19 of Daniil Medvedev's 21 titles have been achieved on hard courts
A resurgent Medvedev won his initial title for nearly 30 months with success over Corentin Moutet in the competition final.
The athlete, a ex- top-ranked player, has had a difficult season, winning just one win at the major tournaments and undergoing a meltdown at the US Open.
The player's inconsistency on the tennis tour - and struggles with his service game in especial - resulted in him dropping out of the world's top 10 and finally separating with former coach Gilles Cervara.
Now collaborating with his coach and Goetzke, Medvedev has consistently progressed in the last few weeks - climaxing in a hard-fought three-set win over opponent Moutet.
This represents the player's maiden title following the Rome competition and maiden on a hardcourt from March of that year.
The win also signifies the Russian has achieved 21 championships at 21 various competitions.
"It's the first time I am participating in a competition with my children simultaneously, so to secure a title is particularly special," stated ranked player the champion.
"This title is in dedication of my child her name, because the first title I achieved when my child her name was born was for her."
Medvedev, the past champion, had lost his last six title deciders, featuring in the German tournament in the past months.
His defensive play style and regular emotional displays on the tennis court had caused some to question if his skill to perform at the highest level was concluded.
But the player has implemented adjustments in the last few weeks, making an effort to approach the net and compete assertively, backed up by an improved service.
The champion fought back from a deficit in the initial set against the tricky Frenchman, winning 4 of the last five points to gain the advantage.
The competitors traded break points in the middle set before the Frenchman, striving for his maiden professional championship, gained dominance to push for a final set.
He defended four initial opportunities in a tight third set before Medvedev won the break to that score to close out the victory.
Suitably, Medvedev secured victory with a point at the net area, with Moutet incapable to manage a return after over two and a half hours.
